The Citizen's Alliance for Transportation Solutions is dedicated to improving Sacramento Region transportation. Sacramento and the capitol region have grown immensely. Our population and employment levels are rising along with commute times. Our once open roads and fast-flowing freeways are now choked with traffic for hours at a time. Our public transit system has vastly improved but is unable to keep up with demand. Conditions will further deteriorate unless we act now. Our region's population will leap by a million people - or 54 percent - by 2025. It's simple. We must fix today's bottlenecks, accommodate new growth and develop efficient mass transit for today and tomorrow, or prepare for Los Angeles-style congestion. CATS advocates sensible transportation projects and works with officials on every level for the money to build them. In meetings with federal officials and California's congressional delegation CATS explains our region's needs and advocates for transportation spending on projects that work. CATS also tries to halt raids on state transportation funds inspired by California's budget crisis.
